In meeting our educational goals the daily activities are designed to provide an age-appropriate program in the following early childhood development areas:

speech development, learning to read, speak and communicate, introducing to children's literature (using international and modern methods of teaching)

basic math skills, mathematical problem solving, development of logical thinking, logical games (Dienes Blocks, Voskobovich Games)

observation, exploration and experimenting, ecological and environmental games

drawing, painting, collage, pasting, cutting, tearing

role-play, dramatic play, dress up, puppet theatre

building blocks, use of natural resources, playground equipment, assembling puzzles, molding clay, pouring

musical instruments, singing, rhythm, movement coordination

learning dance moves, hip hop, stretching, choreography, dance compositions

children's fitness and yoga, gym, morning exercises, health, sport facilities, and dance

libraries, children theatre, museums, provincial parks, farms, places for fun, Art Gallery, Toronto Zoo, Reptilia, Science Center

An Alternate Day Kindergarten educational program is provided at Kids Island Daycare Centre.

The daily activities include indoor and outdoor play, quiet/nap periods, group and individual play.

Program plans and daily schedules are posted in each room.


KINDER island
Age: 18 months – 2½ years
Staff to child ratio: 1:5 Register
Fun for little ones
The toddler program includes dancing, music, learning to speak, drawing, gluing, painting, play dough use, story time. As well as learning self-help skills, such as dressing up, using the washroom and eating by themselves.


WONDER island
Age: 3-4 years
Staff to child ratio: 1:8Register
Amazing activities for preschoolers
The preschool program includes language development, English, French and Russian activities, music, dance, science, story time, collage making, arts & crafts and field trips!


Explorer island
Age: 3-6 years
Staff to child ratio: 1:8 Register
Every day is a surprise at Explorer Island
The program includes language development, French activities, great group projects, music, dance, science, story time, collage making, performances, arts & crafts and field trips!

Age: 4-5 years
Junior Kindergarten

The program has an intensive English preparation along with a Russian program. As well as French activities, learning to read and write, great group projects, music, dance, science, story time, collage making, performances, arts & crafts and field trips!*

Senior Kindergathen

Who's stronger - a whale or an elephant?
Program includes an intense English preparation for grade 1, along with a Russian program. As well as French activities, learning to read and write, great group projects, music, dance, science, story time, collage making, performances, arts & crafts and field trips and tons of educational games!*

after school
Age: 6-12 years
Staff to child ratio: 1:15 Register

Join our After School Program, which includes school bus transportation, hot lunches, Russian lessons, English and French activities, geography, science, social studies, mathematics, homework help, dance, music, P.A. days, Winter Holidays Camp, March Break, Summer Camp!

*Please note: The full day JK and SK program at public school is not mandatory in Ontario. The parents have an option to attend Daycare with JK and SK program until Grade 1.
